Thank You

Thank you so much for your support of our 2016 election campaigns here in Liverpool.

Liverpool Green Party would like to thank everyone who voted for us in the 2016 local elections. We’d also like to thank all our members and supporters who put in such a magnificent shift during the election campaign. The Green Party here in Liverpool is reliant on volunteers giving up their spare time to lend a hand and it is always appreciated!

LIVERPOOL MAYORAL ELECTION
– We managed to double our vote in the Mayoral elections meaning that Tom Crone finished 3rd (up from 4th place in 2012)

MERSEYSIDE POLICE & CRIME COMMISSIONER ELECTION
– John Coyne received 9% of the vote across the whole of Merseyside in the PCC elections, finishing 4th and ensuring that we saved the £5,000 deposit

And most importantly:

Cllr. Sarah Jennings was re-elected in St. Michaels ward with 62% of the vote – possibly one of the best local election results that the Green Party has ever achieved

As a local party we’re already examining the results and developing fresh plans for the next two years.  Despite the mixed results there is no feeling of despondency amongst the party. This has only strengthened our resilience and determination to do better. And, together with help from all our members and supporters, we will!

If you’d like to support the work of Liverpool Green Party over the next two years then you can consider:

– Joining the party. You take out membership by visiting: https://my.greenparty.org.uk/civicrm/membership/joining

– Setting up a monthly direct debit donation to support the work of the local party all year round. For details please email David Morgan on: DavidMorganGreenParty@gmail.com

Our Crowdfunder successful campaign was critical in helping us campaign in our target wards. We’re obviously disappointed not to have picked up new council seats, however there are many positives that we can take from this campaign:   Those who contributed via Crowdfunder your rewards have already arrived, and we’ll be getting those out to everyone in the next few weeks.
