Erection of luxury homes rejected

Campaigners have won the struggle to save part of Calderstones Park.

Redrow Homes applied for permission to build 51 luxury homes on the Harthill Estate.

The Labour Council, led by Mayor Joe Anderson, supported Redrow, arguing that the land in question was not part of the public park.

Liverpool Open and Green Spaces (LOGS) opposed the proposal.

This morning (18th January) at the Old Bailey, London, Mr Justice Kerr delivered his judgement in favour of the protestors.
