Developers have withdrawn their proposal to build houses on the green space at St James Place, Liverpool

Liverpool City Council wanted to sell off the much valued green space in between Mill Street and St James Place, otherwise known as the Flat Iron. Beautiful, mature trees would have been replaced with buildings and concrete to create 430 units of accommodation and business space between 4 and 8 stories high, across 3 sites.

We had a demo on Wednesday, at Liverpool Town Hall.

The good news is: the developers are going to change their plans. The threat has gone away, at least for now. Here we are at the demo:
