Climate change news

A mixture of good and bad:

Good – more and more local councils around the region are declaring Climate Emergencies; in many cases this has been as a result of work by Green Councillors (e.g. Burnley) or Green Party activists pushing from outside (e.g. Blackpool).   The proof of the pudding will be in the resulting actions, of course.

Bad – following hope that Cuadrilla had abandoned fracking at Preston New Road, they have returned with a vengeance.  Consequently the ‘Green Mondays’ (arranged and promoted by the indefatigable Allan Todd) will be continuing—support for the protectors there is always welcome, whether Monday or any other day.    A significant date is Monday 12th August, which is the second anniversary of Green Mondays and there will be 3 guest speakers and music.
